Tennis champion and one of the greatest athletes of all time Serena Williams is looking to taking her talent off the court and join the ranks of the ever-growing beauty industry. With the likes of Fenty Beauty, KKW Beauty and Kylie Cosmetics proving to be a massive success, it is quite evident that the celebrity beauty industry is currently booming: so much so that it has captured the attention of the tennis star. According to TMZ, Williams filed documents to trademark “Aneres” (that’s Serena spelled backwards). While most beauty newbies tend to start off within a more niche category before expanding to a wider range of products, Serena is going full speed with a full range collection.
What To Expect From Her Cosmetic Line.
Her cosmetic vision is said to be a comprehensive one with 18 beauty categories. It’ll span from: foundations, eye shadows, lipstick, lip-glosses, powders, mascara, eyeliner, cosmetic cases, makeup brushes, makeup remover to skincare products, body lotion, shampoo, hair spray, hair gel, dry shampoo, hair rinses and perfume. She had also previously secured the trademark rights for the brand name in the clothing category.
The Aneres beauty line will no doubt boost William’s entrepreneurial profile, which is already quite prolific. The details of her line is still yet to be officially announced. However, fans can’t help but wonder if her beauty range will have sweat-proof products. Serena once told people magazine that she only wears eyeliner while on the court. “I don’t really wear any other makeup because it always runs.”
The all-encompassing beauty line isn’t Serena’s only ambition for the near future. “I absolutely want more grand slams,” she told Vogue in 2017. The 36 year old now mother of one is giving us #GirlBoss vibes. Serena Williams clearly isn’t shying away from taking on new projects nor is she taking a break from the court. This is proof to us women that we sure can do and have it all! I can’t wait to see what Aneres Beauty will look like.
