The latest, and seemingly the most controversial addition to Kim Kardashian`s line of KKW fragrance(s) is finally out. The perfume bottle holds 100 ml of product which can be purchased off the official website. The KKW Fragrance Website describes the perfume as a `narcotic elixir that offers an opening of bright, energetic bergamot embracing a burst of juicy peach nectar.’
KKW Body is the seventh perfume released under KKW Fragrance line. There is;
- The 3 crystal inspired perfumes
- The 3 limited edition Valentine ’s Day kimoji perfumes
- Now the KKW body
So far every beauty product launched by the reality star has sold out in a relatively short period of time. Just as this one is.
The online reviews so far have been good. A lot of the reviewers claiming the perfume masters a balance between the flowery scents reminiscent of spring and the musky scent of skin wood. Citing it would be appropriate for everyday wear.
However, the packaging of the KKW Body does seem to be causing more of a stir than the fragrance itself.
Mrs. West had a lot of people guessing when she put up a number of risqué images on her Instagram and website. We later found out that this was all part of the ad campaign for the new perfume. The perfume is named KKW Body because it is packaged in just that. As we learned, the packaging is a scaled down mould of Kim`s actual nude body.
The detailing on the bottle leaves little to imagination, hence the controversy. There were some that were quick to point out the similarity in packaging to Jean Paul Gaultier`s perfumes, a luxury brand whose perfume packaging is often inspired by the female silhouette.
Gaultier played down the controversy and told Vogue, “I couldn’t put my body [for a women’s perfume], so I put a different body. She did her own body, so it’s different.”
That may or may not be why a lot of people are interested in trying out the fragrance. It remains to be seen whether the masses will deem the packaging as offensive or empowering, but what`s for sure is that it will be flying off the shelves.
If you are interested in purchasing this perfume, you can do so of the KKW Fragrance website. It can be yours for $60 (around KSH 6,024) – a relatively reasonable price if you ask me. It is surprisingly still available on the KKW fragrance website but chances are it won’t be for much longer.
