It’s a brand new week and currently in Nairobi, it is cold and rainy. Time to stylishly bundle up if you know what’s good for you. This past weekend was the annual Fashion High Tea. It happens to be the most elegant, exquisite local fashion event of the year.
It is safe to say that the Nairobi style calendar has officially kicked off.
The location as always, was at the Zen Garden. The rain poured heavily but this did not stop the fun and fashion that took place. There was quite a good turn out and the fashion personalities showed up and showed out. I saw familiar faces like Photographer, Lyra Aoko, Beauty vlogger Nancie Mwai, Media personality and food blogger Miss Mandy, Natural hair blogger Sheila Ndinda, award-winning fashion stylist Connie Aluoch among many others.
The decor was spectacular! It felt like a floral serenade with roses from wall to wall and on every table.
The vendors had a lot to offer, from tasty ice cream menus, chilled champagne, sweet cocktails and sumptuous food and desserts.
The fashion community in Nairobi showed out. I could easily spot a variety of designer high fashion lovers. It was a parade of the finest things in the world of style, Gucci, Dior, Christian Louboutin you name it!
The crowd brought its A game as they were dressed to impress. To my surprise, they managed to stay on theme. Ladies with their sky-high heels, pretty dresses and quite a number of fascinators.
Meanwhile the gents kept it dapper in their casual suit attires. Personally I appreciated the display of proper grooming and styling at this particular event.
Of course there was a captivating fashion show.
There was also a shopping section with a ton of stylish booths to choose from, an array of photographers, a cheesy yet fun photo booth as well as an entertaining Dj. This event was properly executed and the tons of fun kept the guests distracted from the terrible and unfortunate weather. I am already excited for the next fashion high tea, too bad we have to wait a whole year.
