Spring cleaning doesn’t only refer to de-cluttering your house; it’s also a term perfect for you to clear out your closet.
Time to make room for your new wardrobe. A new season always means fresh new color palettes, styles and fabrics.
There are various ways to clear out your closet. You could donate what you no longer need to a home or church drive. Perhaps, you can sell your used items on sites such as eBay and OLX. Better yet, you could have some fun with it and throw a hand me down party.
A sip and swap theme would be the best way to kick-start spring with your girlfriends.
“How does this work?” you ask. Well, you simply call a few friends who seem to have similar taste to yours and ask them if they would like to swap what they don’t need any more for what you don’t need anymore. This will make for the perfect girl time hangout and a chance to get that item in your friend’s closet that you always wanted and she never wears anymore.
Drinks on deck!
Have fun drinks like mimosa, sangria, and cocktails just to name a few, something to bite, great music and a ton of clothes to swap. Extend the invite to your colleagues, family and some girlfriends. Make sure you invite women of all shapes and sizes so as to even the plain field in terms of everyone getting at least one item from the swap.
Pick out what you know you don’t need, what doesn’t fit you anymore and all those items you swore you would take back to the store but never quite got around to doing it. Remember to always keep your classics. Reason being is fashion always makes a comeback and you could save some coins when your classics come back in style.
Play dress up at the swap party, hold mini fashion shows to see how everything fits on all of you and give each other creative style tips.
Nothing beats time with fellow women and nothing is more satisfying than an afternoon filled with fun and some new clothes for the new season.
Happy spring cleaning and happy swapping. Don’t be a hoarder, let it go and make room for some new pieces.
