Different seasons come with different trends. At times the trends tend to boomerang from either one era to the next or from one season to the next. A great example would be the off the shoulder trend, this trend dates back to the 70’s. It made a glorious come back in the summer of 2016 and is still a fan favorite in 2018. You can read more about ways to style the off-shoulder here. We look at these trends as either a requirement or a suggestion. Is it a fashion must have or is it a suggestion better suited for those who love to take risks in fashion?
Since the fall of 2017 pairing sneakers with your everyday get up has been the number one style tip. Dresses and sneakers, denim and sneakers, skirts and sneakers, athleisure and sneakers, even gowns and sneakers. Check out sneaker style tips here. Brands such as Yeezy, Balenciaga, Chanel and Gucci designed statement sneakers that everybody felt was a wardrobe necessity. Balenciaga, Chanel and Yeezy took it further and gave us the return of the “Dad sneaker”.

This is a bulky sneaker that literally looks like a pair of sports cars on your feet.
They are not the prettiest shoes in the world or the most flattering but hey, they do have some perks.
Fashionistas across the board can be seen rocking this trend flawlessly. Pantsuits, maxi dresses, miniskirts, denim, sweatpants, haute couture gowns, you name it. All these have been paired with the dad sneaker.

In my opinion, the shoes are comfortable and that is always the first thing I advise you to look for in a shoe. They are also fashion-forward and in season which keeps you looking trendy. However these are not your regular gym shoes, they look heavy but do they feel heavy? They would be perfect for fashion week as a statement piece. Find quirky ways to style them and get ready to be extremely comfortable as you make your way through each show and each activity.

They would also be great for an airport-style look, comfy, easy to run through customs with and your feet will feel like they are resting on literal clouds the whole trip.
They are quite pricey being that the brands creating these babies also happens to be high-end luxury brands. Go for a dupe; find out if other more affordable brands have them in stock. Try Adidas, Nike, Reebok, Sketchers just to name a few.
Research on different fashion bloggers who are currently obsessed with this trend, see how they pair their sneakers and get some style inspiration. If that doesn’t work simply go to Kim Kardashian’s Instagram page because the reality star can’t seem to get enough of this trend.
