The world of photography is evolving. From equipment, photo sets, styles of shooting, editing techniques and the creativity? Creativity is flowing like the speed of water running down a waterfall and when it reaches the surface, the force is overwhelming. One is left in awe! I mean, in public we do have to remind ourselves to close our mouths (you get a bit carried away). Photographers in Kenya are definitely on the rise and killing us with creativity one shot at a time. They are taking risks, appreciating and incorporating their surroundings, working with fellow creatives and essentially blowing our minds. We ponder, drool over and are full of pride when we see their work and we can’t help but show them how much we appreciate their work by sharing it, supporting them and working with them. You must get plugged into these photographers.
One of these photographers who is definitely pushing boundaries is Shitanda.
Shitanda manages to give this sensual, in the moment sort of flair in his work.
You can see it from how the muses in his images pose, the backgrounds and sets he creates, his editing and don’t even get me started on the finished edit.
The artistic composition of his final work is vibrant. It is full of culture, personality and all the artistic principles and accessories come together quite seamlessly. He plays around with patterns, poses, day to day items and his surroundings…it’s truly remarkable. It looks like it’s easy to do, something to try out. However, I doubt it’s going to come close to what I’m seeing and it is definitely not going to be original. Shitanda is a true artist.
When it comes to creative work, you can’t fully describe your feelings in words. Take a look at Shitanda’s work below and get lost in it just as I did. Relish in the creativity.
