When Fashion Week rolls around in New York, you know it’s time to start planning and anticipating the year ahead. NYFW started on the 6th of September and will be coming to an end on the 14th September. It has been an exciting time for not only fashion lovers but beauty geeks as well. If you are in search of fresh beauty Inspiration, here is a look at the most wearable as well as creative beauty looks seen on the runway.
Beauty Trends From New York Fashion Week Spring 2019
Statement floral do’s was the hair trend as seen on Rodarte’s show. Whereas this trend may be a little over the top for everyday life, it can easily be incorporated into your hair routine for those extra special events. You don’t have to wear the whole garden on your head though. A flower or two is enough to give off that soft and feminine vibe.
Metallic foil lips are about to take over your makeup bag. According to Jeremy Scott, more is more when it comes to makeup or at least lip art. The models at his show spotted a cool blush-toned foil with a hint of glitter on their mouth courtesy of M.A.C Makeup Artist Kabuki. This has got to be the easiest makeup look to recreate. You can easily use a lip-gloss with a metallic shimmer to create the foil-like effect.
Makeup in some shows was almost non-existent as designers chose to embrace the no-makeup makeup look. Evidently, this trend is not about to die off anytime soon so it’s about time we start investing more in skincare for that radiant complexion. Tom Ford and Rachel Zoe had their models rocking this look with a little bit of strobing to give off that lit from within glow. Nancie Mwai has a great tutorial on how you can achieve a similar look with minimal makeup and no foundation.
What comes to mind when you think of temporary tattoos? Probably the younger version of yourself who wasn’t allowed to get any tattoos just yet. Temporary tattoos have been making a comeback and Dion Lee has managed to make them a cool trend once again. Models at the Dion Lee’s fashion show had intricate tattoo designs stuck onto their bodies that mimicked the designer’s lace clothing collection. This beauty look was created by Maybelline’s Global Makeup Artist Erin Parsons.
If you are one of the people that was excited about the glossy eye look, then it’s safe to allow you to rock this trend all the way to 2019. As seen during the Tom Ford Show, Lead Makeup Artist Diane Kendal created a muted smokey eye using brown shades and topped that off with clear gloss on the lids for that reflective quality that is reminiscent of 70’s glam vibe. This look is very simple to put together and the best part is, you don’t have to worry about blending your eye shadow.
