The clear and transparent trend has been around for quite some time in the fashion industry. This Lucite and PVC look has now been passed down to the beauty industry; more specifically the nail art department. I love nail art. It’s a fun and subtle way to show off your personality/creativity. Unfortunately, my tiny nail beds limit my design options, as there is only so much space my nail technician has to work with. When it comes to manicures, long nails are definitely in. If you are tired of the same old plain acrylic nails, or are looking to step up your manicure game, then this is the trend for you.
The clear nails trend is also known as the no-manicure, manicure or jelly nails.
It consists of transparent nails coated in clear and see-through colors. Your nail technician will first need to:
- Trim your natural nails short.
- Use a sculpting gel to glue on long or short clear tips depending on how you want them.
- Paint them in the color of your choice, and go over the painted nails with a special nail polish to get that see-through effect.
What’s great about this clear nails trend is the gel-like finish. They look fab with or without any decorations underneath and you can still wear them in the same way you would a regular manicure. From metallic shine and geometric shapes, clear nails will give you the perfect canvas to be as creative as possible. The trend comes in all different sizes and colors as well.
If Cinderella had to match her shoes to her nails, I bet it would look something like this. Ultimately, the clear nails mani is an elegant way to rock nail art that feels more grown-up. The trend is already picking up pace on social media and I can’t wait to see how our local nail technicians will pull this look off. What do you think about this manicure trend…? Is it a yay or nay?
