No, it doesn’t involve casting any spells, but it does include a few odd ingredients. Pimples are the one thing just about every human has had to deal with at some point in their life. They can be brought on by a number of reasons such as; diet, hormones and irritation from products/cosmetics. Your first instinct would be to pop them, which only makes things worse and can lead to scarring. Below are a few homemade remedies that can offer you relief from those pesky pimples.
Honey is a great home remedy for just about anything, including pimples. You are advised to apply honey onto the pimple and leave it on for an hour before rinsing it off, gently with warm water.
Honey has the ability to unclog pores. This may be the cause of the pimple in the first place. It also has the ability to kill germs that would ensure another pimple would not sprout if that was the cause. Best of all honey has anti-inflammatory properties that would reduce the swelling of the pimple. All those make it a pretty sweet problem solver (pun intended).
Garlic is said to have some magical abilities but nothing beats using it to get rid of pimples overnight. Apparently, not only does garlic ensure that there is no scarring, it makes the pimple disappear completely. (It doesn’t get any more magical than that). To use it on pimples: Take a fresh garlic clove and make a few cuts into it, allow the juice to drip onto the pimple and leave it on overnight.
DIY beauty guru Farah Dhukai has tried & tested it out and if it’s enough for Dhukai, its good enough for us!
Yup, the quest to get rid of pimples has led us to the fridge. This method tends to be more effective when the pimple has just erupted. Ice is known for having anti-inflammatory effects and that is why you are advised to use it on the pimple. It will not cause a pimple to disappear completely, but it will reduce its size as well as the amount of time it sticks around. Simply place some ice wrapped up in a cloth gently against the pimple for a few minutes.
Ice however does not prevent scarring.
I told you this involves odd ingredients. Wash your face and gently apply a banana peel against the pimple for 10 minutes. You can then go to bed and wash off the banana juice the following morning.
Bananas contain an array of vitamins, as well as minerals that reduce inflammation and reduce the chances of new breakouts occurring.
Remember these hacks are meant to offer temporary relief. If the pimples are occurring constantly, try to find out the exact cause behind it. If simple things such as changes in your diet and the products you use on your skin don’t help, it is best to see a doctor as the cause may be hormone related or a side effect of medication.
